Speaking in Sacrament Meeting and Open House for Family, Friends, and Ward - July 13, 2025

Sister Copeland spoke in the Sunnyside, Washington, Ward Sacrament Meeting on Sunday, July 13, 2025.  Her message was about the reasons she chose to serve a mission, what a mission is, how she has been preparing for this time all her life, and her excitement to serve the people in Brazil.  She bore a short testimony in Portuguese and then in English of the truthfulness of the gospel and her love for the Savior.  It was all so beautiful and filled with the Spirit.

Later after church, Sister Copeland's family held an open house at their home for family, friends, and ward members to come and say good-bye for 18 months before she leaves for Brazil the following Tuesday morning.

Setting Apart as a Missionary - July 6, 2025

Sister Copeland was officially set apart as a missionary by her father, Kent Copeland, Second Counselor in the Yakima Washington Stake Presidency.

This is the priesthood ordinance of giving authority to members called to labor in specific responsibilities.  It is done by those having the proper priesthood authority and by the laying on of hands.  She was given a beautiful blessing, and many promises were made if she would devote these next 18 months to the Lord and be obedient in all her responsibilities.  She was told there would be people waiting specifically for her to come to hear the word of the Lord.  She was then able to officially put on her name tag as a missionary for the next 18 months.  Sister Copeland's sister, Brenly, helped her put her badge on.
