this transfer is going so fast
I feel like I just got here, but we're having transfers again in two weeks.
I'd be so sad to say bye to de Sousa
people say we look like we could be sisters, so I guess that means I could pass as Brasilian ๐
random this week
guy with a beer on a horse in the street
during lunch the Irmรฃ did my nails without asking because she thought my old ones were ugly
random things about Brasil: ๐๐✨️๐ฆ๐๐
tererรฉ
this drink in Brasil that's genuinely heaven made. it's always ice cold, made with juice and has like minty herbs. the culture is always to drink out of the same cup as everyone and just pass it around.
so every council we have, we're all just passing around this metal cup of tererรฉ
it is so good I'm definitely bringing a bag home
brechos
thrift shops. everything is like $1.
this week I hit eight months! it's so weird. I'm never the youngest one anymore.
next is halfway. ๐ณ
can't believe it's been eight months since I've
seen my family
driven a car.
seen Schmitty
slept in my bed
been in the country
division:
I was with sister Prado from Brasilia and she is so much fun.
Pedra Branca was such a pretty area and the central of the city felt like I was normal again. it was so boujee. felt like we were running a girls' trip.
and there's a lagoon where capybaras live
yesterday we set a date with Alexandre. he's dating one of the members and they are about the same age as us. he's never had a religion, so everything is new to him but he's so intrigued.
when we invited him to be baptized, he said yes, I want to, I want to be closer to Jesus.
excited for himmm, look out for March 22!
here's one of the posts I made
also, I saw the Floripa mission page has 30 thousand followers?
these Facebook moms are getting out of control
"Come follow me"
I love this picture with the sheep.
John 10:14
"I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine."
I think a lot of us are guilty of asking someone's name and then forgetting to actually pay attention to the part where they say their name.
But you know how good it feels to be called by your name, especially by someone who you met maybe once.
names are so important. in missionary work we talk about the importance of names. in all of our councils, it's only full of names.
so, I love this scripture because he knows us so individually. we can always follow him, as his sheep, with a surety that he will guide us home.
here on my mission, I get to find lost sheep and help them return to their shepherd.
it's really special
sometimes the sheep can be drunk, smoking, rude, lives too far from the church, slow to understand etc.
this week during comp study, I brought this talk by President Monson to study.
See Others as They May Become
sister de Sousa and I agreed to go into this next week with not limiting our invitations based on first impressions.
like oh, there's no way that person will progress.
that isn't our decision
the first principle we teach as missionaries is God is our loving Heavenly Father.
we've all heard that 100 times
but have you really thought about the depth of that? that we are his?
love you all
remember the two great commandments.
love God with all the heart, and
love his children.
and always look for lost sheep you could help return to the good shepherd.
and if you're that sheep
remember Jesus is in constant pursuit of you!
until next week!
