Week 41 and 42 - May 4, 2026

hey!
my week
-transfers

-finished sister Kearl's first transfer of training

this week we had a lot of new friends at church. it was the best.

this week was a really good week with the work. everything just picked back up. we also just finished the transfer and now we got a second wind, so I'm excited.
these past couple weeks I've been relying on the Savior a lot. fasting and praying. my mission has never failed to show me how real miracles are.
since I'm training, we're reading all the manuals and "Welcome to the Mission" books again and this part stuck out.
"Consciously offer your mission as a gift of thanks to the Savior"
I've been and am so blessed, and I love getting to serve Jesus by being a missionary.

here's some quick bullet points of what happened this week:

working a neighborhood, Prado this week. went well until less than 5 min we left the apt after our lunch, a man came up to us just yapping who knows what. kept asking me questions and any answer I gave him he didn't like, so then I asked him if he wanted to talk or listen. then he snapped in my face like legit w his hands and told me he asked me a question and I wasn't answering. So, then I snapped in his face and said I'll answer if you listen. I still don't know what the purpose of that conversation was. my comp didn't understand what was going on. tadinha. so afterwards she just asked, "why were you guys snapping in each other faces"
I'm a terrible trainer lol

Julianna and mom
this week we were looking for an address and I asked this man, who was actually a member that I didn't recognize. he asked if we knew his family or had been to his house, and we hadn't. so, he brought us in, and his wife immediately sat us down and grabbed my hands.
she was telling me that two weeks ago her mom passed away, and she had been asking the Lord to hear truth and have light in her home, and she said that's when we arrived. she has a background of mixed religions, so she said she was confused and hearing so many different things.
she talked for a long time, and we just listened.
I read her a little bit of a talk about how we know where our loved ones are, but the Spirit can really testify it to us.
as I read her the talk, which talked a little about our loved ones returning home to heaven and being greeted, she just kept saying,
"really? it's like that sister" that's it?"
over and over
and I just kept telling her that her mom was ok
over and over
she was obviously mourning, in a haze, and lost. but I felt the Spirit so strong being able to be there for her in that moment, that I would never have had the opportunity if I wasn't a missionary.
that night was one of the most spiritual nights of my mission. just truly using the knowledge of the gospel and plan of salvation to comfort her was an honor I felt so lucky to have.

that's about it
heading into my last transfer of training sis Kearl! I'm so proud of her.

have the best week 🤍
